Manchin-Schumer Framework Includes Funding for Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund
Inclusiv and our network of nearly 500 community development credit unions applaud the leadership of Majority Leader Schumer and the Senate Democrats for their tireless work in developing this historic framework for equitable climate finance.
Inclusiv has been working closely with our partner, Coalition for Green Capital, to connect the deep impact lending of CDFIs, community development credit unions and other community-based lenders with the network of green banks around the country. Together we are building a framework to advance affordable and accessible capital to reduce energy cost burden, increase resiliency, and expand energy efficiency and renewable energy among households, homeowners and small businesses in low-income and communities of color.
Inclusiv has established its Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy to drive climate action in vulnerable communities. Since its inception, the Center has trained more than 300 community-based lenders around the country and built infrastructure to channel capital to ensure the benefits of a greening economy are felt by all.
This network of lenders will be able to leverage this investment ten times over in new loans financed in the coming years.
We urge legislators to support this framework and send it to the President’s desk as soon as possible.
