Ruben Cisneros
Chief Operations Officer, Border FCU (Del Rio, TX) - Region 3
Ruben Cisneros brings over 26 years of experience in the credit union industry and within the cooperative movement. At present, he is the Chief Operations Officer for Border Federal Credit Union and is part of the credit union's senior management team. Ruben is directly responsible for overseeing all branch operations, lending, the member service and collections departments, and the financial counseling department. Border Federal Credit Union's mission is to serve our member-owners and community by providing quality and exceptional financial services to improve their well-being. Border Federal Credit Union is recognized as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a low-income designation, specializing in risk-based lending products, and services for underserved and undocumented members. These services include financial literacy and financial coaching. For the past eight years, the credit union has provided Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to not just members, but anyone needing the service free of charge.
Ruben currently serves in various committees for the Cornerstone Credit Union League including the International Relations Committee of which one of its initiatives is the Juntas Avanzamos program. He also serves on the Executive Committee for the Payments and Operations Council and with the Ambassadors Committee under the direction of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation which is a 501(c)(3). He has also served as past Board Member for the Val Verde County Welfare Board which deals with assistance to battered women and children.
