Carol Minges joined 1st Financial Federal Credit Union as Chief Information Officer in 2008. She served as Interim Chief Executive Officer from May through December 2013 and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in January 2014.

During her tenure, 1st Financial has experienced a drastic culture shift, emphasizing the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” While CEO, 1st Financial was chosen as one of the Best Workplaces in St. Louis for 2014 and 2015 by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, started multiple initiatives to improve health and productivity within the branches, and launched a successful community presence program with the goal of assisting the underserved and underbanked population of St. Louis.

Carol’s commitment to community resulted in multiple community grant programs, a paid volunteer program, a partnership with the Saint Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) and Tishaura Jones, the Treasurer of the City of St. Louis, to provide financial education and free checking accounts for Saint Louis youth. Another partnership was formed with Ms. Jones too, that allows 1st Financial to provide college savings accounts for every kindergartener in the city of St. Louis as part of the CollegeKids program.

Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Information Systems, Information Technology and Business. Before moving to 1st Financial, Carol’s experience included eleven years with FORUM Credit Union in Indianapolis, IN, serving in several operations and technology roles, as well as five years with Arsenal Credit Union in St.Louis.
