Richard Witherspoon
Treasurer/CEO, Hill District Federal Credit Union (Pittsburgh, PA)
Richard Witherspoon is the Treasurer/CEO of Hill District Federal Credit Union, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the credit union. He provides financial counseling and assistance to the membership and facilitates the growth and strategic plan as outlined and mandated by the board of directors of the credit union.
During his 33 years of experience in the credit union movement, Richard has had an opportunity to be involved in the formation of two community development credit unions. The experience has taught him that there is a need for such institutions in communities that are underserved by traditional financial service providers. He believes that if we are to thrive and provide a better future for the generations coming behind us, it is our responsibility to educate and equip them by way of sound and reasonable financial services and education. Richard's volunteer service includes:
