Ysemny (Nachi) Abood is the Technical Assistance Specialist, providing on-site and off-site support services by doing Bank and General Ledger account reconciliations, auditing, and provides support to various Supervisory Committees by doing quarterly reviews of different areas including the bi-annual member’s verification for some of our member’s. She performs the annual Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC compliance audit and training, primarily to smaller to midsize credit unions. In addition to these services, she operates the TA “Hot Line” a complimentary consulting service to our members designed to answer questions in regards but not limited to those areas.
For the past eight years, Nachi has served as the senior accountant for New York Financial Network Action Consortium (NYCfNAC), responsible for the bookkeeping of the organization, and assisting the Executive Director with the general administration and human resource function. In addition to the senior accountant position, Nachi managed the Accounting Program and provided on-site accounting and auditing support services to various credit unions. She continues servicing four of those credit unions.
Prior to working at NYCfNAC, Nachi has 20 years of banking experience, working in different areas and departments including auditing, and as supervisor of the Accounting Department. Nachi attended and pursued an accounting degree at BMCC. She attended the American Institute of Banking and received a Banking Operations and Supervision Certificate.
