Capital Resources for Credit Unions to Advance Racial Equity in Black Communities

Inclusiv, in collaboration with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), invite you to join us for a joint Inclusiv/Capital and Inclusiv/Black Communities webinar: Capital Resources for Credit Unions to Advance Racial Equity in Black Communities.

Join Cathi Kim, Director of Inclusiv/Capital, George E. Ashton III, Managing Director at LISC Strategic Investments, and Tiffany Royster, Senior Director of Equity Investment Originations at LISC Strategic Investments, for a webinar on capital resources available for Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs). This webinar is open to all credit unions with an emphasis on encouraging Black credit unions and credit unions seeking to advance racial equity in Black communities to register. During this session, Cathi will review the capital resources available through Inclusiv, such as secondary capital, and the Racial Equity and Resilience Investment Fund. George and Tiffany will share information on how credit unions can access the resources provided by LISC’s Black Economic Development Fund. Participants will have a chance to ask questions about the eligibility requirements for these capital programs during the webinar.

George E. Ashton III, Managing Director, LISC Strategic Investments

George Ashton is Managing Director of Strategic Investments with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). George leads LISC’s multi-dimensional effort pursuing a range of high-impact investments that create jobs, fuel small businesses, revitalize commercial areas, improve housing, expand local incomes and make communities safer and stronger. George previously served as co-founder and president of Sol System, a Washington, D.C.-based renewable energy investment firm. There, George worked closely with multi-national banks, insurers and energy providers on innovative funds and financial structures, deploying more than $1 billion in tax equity, cash equity and debt over the last decade into renewable energy projects.


Cathi Kim, Director, Inclusiv Capital

Cathi's work at Inclusiv is focused on connecting CDCUs to capital to strengthen their double bottom line of financial growth and community impact. Her role includes leading underwriting, market analysis and strategy development, advising on credit union regulations, business planning, and impact design to help credit unions strengthen their double bottom line of financial growth and community impact. Prior to her work at Inclusiv, Cathi worked on housing and immigrant rights campaigns and complex civil litigations.

 


Tiffany Royster, Senior Director Equity Investment Originations, LISC Strategic Investments

Tiffany serves as Senior Director Equity Investment Originations where she leads Strategic Investment’s Community Investments Accelerators. She has nearly 20 years of experience in community development, real estate finance, and loan fund management. Most recently, Tiffany was Senior Vice President at the Harbor Bank of Maryland CDC where she led the operations of the organization, including developing real estate and small business loan funds, developing and managing a co-working space and technical assistance, and running a developer training program.
