Federation Matching Donations for Puerto Rico Relief

#GivingTuesday initiative to send 100 percent of funds raised to credit unions affected by Maria

On Tuesday, November 28, nonprofits, businesses, families and communities will come together in the spirit of giving to celebrate #GivingTuesday -- donating time and money or raising funds for a charitable organization or cause they care about.

This year, the Federation is asking our members, partners and friends in the community development credit union movement to rally around our CDCU family in Puerto Rico by making a donation to assist them in their long road to recovery from the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria.

The Federation and the New York Credit Union Foundation have set up a fund specifically designated to support relief efforts for credit unions and cooperativas in Puerto Rico. The Federation has pledged to match all donations up to $10,000 made to the #GivingTuesday fund through November 30, 2017. 100 percent of every dollar raised will go directly to the credit unions and cooperativas in Puerto Rico who need our help the most.

Although it's been two months since Hurricane Maria tore through Puerto Rico, resident continue to suffer from limited access to electricity, cellphone service and clean water. Please make a donation in support of Puerto Rican credit unions.
