Inclusiv's Pam Owens & Cliff Rosenthal inducted into African American Credit Union Hall of Fame

Inductees to be honored at AACUC reception on Tue, March 12 in Washington, DC during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference

We're thrilled to announce that Inclusiv’s own Pamela Owens, SVP of Organizational Development, and Cliff Rosenthal, former Inclusiv President/CEO, will be inducted into the African-American Credit Union Coalition’s Hall of Fame next month, alongside Charles Alston, Sr., Board Member at Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU. Congratulations to the honorees!

Pamela Owens, CUDE, Senior Vice President, Inclusiv

Pamela Owens has over 20 years of experience supporting CDCUs' delivery of products and services to underserved communities, with special attention to innovative product development, training and technical assistance. Since joining Inclusiv in 1998, a major focus of her work has been capacity building for small and faith-based credit unions. Ms. Owens currently serves as Senior Vice President of Organizational Development and Capacity Building, and is responsible for developing the African American Credit Union Initiative, which supports legacy MDI credit unions with sustainability and growth through membership expansion and building efficiencies through technology. Through the CDCU Institute, Ms. Owens graduated 11 classes and trained more than 300 credit union professionals. She also developed Inclusiv’s Each One, Teach Many financial literacy train-the-trainer program, reaching more than 40 states, 1000 trainers and 25,000 members. Ms. Owens coordinated the Cooperative Finance Leaders for America fellowship program, which brought new and emerging thought leaders to the credit union movement. Click here to read more.

 

Clifford N. Rosenthal, CDFI Movement Co-Founder, Former CEO of Inclusiv

Cliff Rosenthal is a nationally recognized leader and innovator in bringing financial services to low-income and minority communities and consumers through credit unions in the United States. During a career spanning more than 30 years as CEO of Inclusiv (formerly known as the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions), he authored the first concept paper for the establishment of the CDFI Fund of the U.S. Treasury Department, and for two decades, he was a leader of the CDFI Coalition. In 2012, Rosenthal launched and became the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)'s Office of Financial Empowerment, developing initiatives to build financial capacity and improve access to financial services for low-income and economically vulnerable consumers. He returned to his home in Brooklyn, New York in 2014, launching a career as a consultant and writing a book on the history of the CDFI movement. Click here to read more.
