NCUA has announced the award of 21 TA grants of $2,500 each to help pay for the preparation work of CDFI certification. The Federation, along with national and state credit union leaders, has campaigned to significantly increase the number of credit unions with CDFI certification. Because CDFI certification is one of the building blocks for sustainable growth in LMI markets, the Federation has priced CU Breakthrough's CDFI certification engagements at $2,500 for member and non-member applications based on Investment Area or Low-Income Target Population target markets as part of its 2014 CDFI Certification Campaign.

If you were not awarded a Technical Assistance grant, you still have options. Contact us for assistance with your certification application. Remember that the NCUA grant is not required to apply for CDFI certification. The 2014 Certification Campaign rate of $2,500 still applies. CDFI certification is good for 3 years and can be amortized over that period.
