On March 14, 2023, René Vargas Martínez, Director of Inclusiv Puerto Rico Network moderated the Community Lending and Business Assistance in the Path to Prosperity panel as part of the Path to Prosperity Regional Series in Puerto Rico. The Path to Prosperity series is comprised of panel discussions with economic, lending, and government experts. The attendees included cooperativas, credit unions, CDFIs, financial institutions, trade groups, local and federal government agencies, nonprofit staff representing organizations, and local entrepreneurs and small businesses in Puerto Rico. The event was organized by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The session was an absolute success! The all-star panel included Carlos Camacho, CEO at Inclusiv member Cooperativa de Aguadilla, Jessy X. de Jesús Herrera, Director of Commercial Financing at Inclusiv member CooPACA, Giovanna Piovanetti, Executive President at Lendreams, Denisse Rodríguez, Executive Director at Colmena 66, Rosa Uriarte, Director, Economic Development, PathStone Enterprise Center (Puerto Rico), and Sandra Rodríguez, Branch Manager at Cooperativa de Seguros Multiples. The panelists shared useful information, tools, and resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners, discussed opportunities to access capital, and engaged in dynamic discussions with attendees intended to expand and grow their businesses to a new level.
