Inclusiv to Provide Credit Union Members with Access to Citi ATM Community Network

May 3, 2023, New York, NY – Inclusiv and Citi are proud to announce the expansion of the Citi®ATM Community Network to include participation by 14 new Inclusiv member credit unions. Inclusiv’s network of mission-based credit unions dedicated to serving low/moderate-income communities and communities of color will deepen the Citi® ATM Community Network’s reach in these communities.

Launched in 2016, the Citi® ATM Community Network enables members of participating credit unions and community banks to make cash withdrawals without a surcharge fee at more than 2,300 Citibank branch ATMs in the United States including those in New York, greater Miami, Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. The Citi® ATM Community Network helps enable participating institutions to reduce costs and provide convenient ATM access to their customers. Each participating institution also waives any out-of-network fees they may charge to their customers for using Citibank ATMs.

An additional 14 credit unions serving are joining the Citi® ATM Community Network and bringing these benefits to their members. This expansion brings the total number of participating credit unions, community banks and minority-owned banks to 52, with a collective reach of over one million customers, many of which are low/moderate income and/or people of color.

“Citi’s efforts to increase participation in the bank’s ATM Community Network is truly a groundbreaking initiative that reflects their commitment to financial inclusion and support of community development credit unions and the communities they serve. We hope other large banks will follow Citi’s leadership and replicate an initiative that’s benefiting millions of consumers.”

Pablo DeFilippi, EVP, Inclusiv/Network

“The Citi ATM Community Network harnesses our infrastructure to help alleviate barriers and expand access to banking in low-income communities and communities of color around the country. As part of our Action for Racial Equity initiative, this expansion deepens our efforts to help close the racial wealth gap and increase economic mobility in the U.S.”

Michelle Thornhill, Head of U.S. Community Relations, Citi

“The response from our members has been overwhelmingly positive. Citi has made the program simple for credit unions to participate through easy onboarding, free marketing materials in multiple languages and member usage reports. Most importantly, the program keeps consumers in mind. Consumers no longer have to pay to access their own money at what were previously out-of-network ATMs, which allows them to keep more financial resources in their households for other purposes.”

Monica Copeland, Minority Depository Institution (MDI) Network Director, Inclusiv

"Neighborhood Trust FCU is grateful to the Citi ATM Community Network. This program benefits members by allowing them to access their funds without additional charges, and that allows Neighborhood Trust FCU to maintain good quality services and retain members that otherwise would have left the credit union given the fact that we have one branch only."

Rosa Franco, Director of Lending, Neighborhood Trust Federal Credit Union

New Credit Unions joining the Citi ATM Community Network include: MERCO Credit Union, Members Credit Union, The Finest Federal Credit Union, 1199 SEIU Federal Credit Union, O.A.S. Federal Credit Union, New Community Federal Credit Union, New Covenant Dominion Federal Credit Union, The Episcopal Community Federal Credit Union, Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union, United Cities Credit Union, Great Lakes Credit Union, Urban Upbound Federal Credit Union, Maroon Financial Credit Union, and USAlliance Federal Credit Union.
