I. Communicating Arts Credit Union Site Visit | Wednesday, May 14, 2014 | 9:30 am - 11:30 am

The Communicating Arts Credit Union site visit is combined with a tour of Detroit highlights. We start with a visit to CACU's Highland Park branch. The drive to the Highland Park branch will take you past some of the beautiful mansions in the Boston/Ediston District of Detroit, including Berry Gordy's home, where the Motown founder lived in the label's heydey. You'll see housing financed by CACU and hear about Detroit's redevelopment efforts. City highlights we'll pass include the DIA, Fox Theater and stadiums where the Tigers and Lions play, along with several Opportunity Detroit projects. The tour ends with a trip around Campus Martius Park, the cross-road for all downtown activity and the point from which all major avenues radiate.

RSVP for the CACU site visit today by contacting Sandra Gomez at sgomez@inclusiv.org! Seats are limited and will be reserved on a first-come,  first-served basis. Site visit tickets are $15 per person.

II.Affordable Homeownership Roundtable: Counseling and Mortgage Products for the LMI Market
Wednesday, May 14, 2014 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This half-day session will kick-off with a presentation from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development on upcoming developments in the homeownership counseling field, including the new HUD Counselor Certification process as well as the impact of CFPB’s mortgage rules on counseling agencies.

In the second half of our session, we’ll open it up for a roundtable discussion on how counseling providers and credit unions can work together to ensure that low- and moderate-income homebuyers are equipped for success, through high-quality education and counseling and safe and affordable mortgage products. The Federation, NeighborWorks America, and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority will present information on their affordable homeownership programming and how your credit union can participate.
