First Steps for First-Time CDFI Grant Applicants

Your Credit Union May Qualify for a
Treasury Department CDFI Grant!

Notice of Funding Availability Released February 26

The recent COVID-19 relief legislation advocated by Inclusiv contains significant new sources of funding that are being directed to underserved communities, especially communities of color. The CDFI Fund will be soon announcing the first opportunity: the Rapid Response Program (RRP). The Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was released February 26, making available $1.25 billion in grants to CDFIs.

Get a jump start on the certification process! Applicants must be registered with SAM.gov and Grants.gov to apply for CDFI grants. Please note that only Certified CDFIs who achieve Certification prior to the release date of the NOFA will be eligible to apply for the CDFI Rapid Response Program.

It can take up to 10 business days to process your registration with SAM.gov, so if you do not already have an active account, please register as soon as possible. First-time applicants can watch the short videos listed here to get started on your SAM.gov and other registrations today!

Inclusiv and CUNA Mutual Group are partnering to educate the industry about the value of the CDFI certification and increase credit union participation in these groundbreaking opportunities.

Credit unions that are not CDFI certified and plan to apply for a Technical Assistance grant will also need to be registered with AMIS.  If you have not yet registered on AMIS, click here.

Past applicants for a CDFI Technical Assistant (TA) or Financial Assistance (FA) grant must verify their status and update their registration on each platform.

If you are not yet CDFI-certified, you may be eligible to apply for a Technical Assistance (TA) grant during the yet-to-be-announced FY 2021 funding round. View our webinar for more details.
