High Impact Mortgage Learning Center

This training is ideal for mission-driven credit unions that want to expand their knowledge and learn how to grow homeownership in low- to middle-income communities by applying effective and compliant loan processing strategies.
Our training program is structured in cohorts. Each cohort participates in a series of themed training modules. All sessions are virtual and include asynchronous and live webinars.
Participants who complete the training will be prepared to:
- Identify opportunities and stakeholders involved in the implementation or expansion of a mortgage lending program design
- Understand the NCUA’s regulatory framework for mortgage lending
- Learn the full cycle of mortgage lending, focused on low- to middle-income communities and suitable property types
- Apply credit enhancements and secondary market options in lending strategies.
- Understand the processes to apply in-depth review of alternative documentation in compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Manage and sustain a successful mortgage lending portfolio
- Build an Implementation plan, tailored to a credit union's needs

Our inaugural course is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025. It is a 6-weeks program with office hours each week. This inaugural course is free thanks to a generous grant from Capital One. You can sign up here. Space is limited.
Coming soon: We are developing a training program for cooperativas that will be offered in Spanish later on in the year.
