Small Business Capital Initiative Learning Center
This training is ideal for credit unions that want to launch or expand their small business lending programs. They will learn how to identify small business community needs and will gain an understanding of the entire lending cycle, how to use and access Inclusiv's Small Business Capital Initiative services, and loan portfolio management. Most importantly, participants will develop an Implementation Plan focused on launching or redeveloping their small business loan programs.
Our training program is structured in cohorts. Each cohort receives training in 8 sessions offered virtually, including asynchronous and live webinars. Participants in the training will:
- Identify the opportunities, stakeholders and actors involved in the implementation or expansion of a small business lending program in their CDCUs (community development credit unions).
- Understand the regulatory framework dictated by NCUA and SBA, to build a solid small business lending program.
- Understand the processes and requirements to work with third-party loan processors or a CUSO (MBFS) and participate in Inclusiv's Small Business Loan Loss Fund and Loan Participation Marketplace. Participants will also learn the key processes needed to manage a successful small business lending portfolio.
- Build an Implementation Plan, tailored to their own credit union’s needs.
This training program is open to credit unions and cooperativas and is currently offered in English. Please check back soon for a training program tailored to cooperativas that will be offered in Spanish.
